A portfolio is meant to do three things 1) make a good impression for potential clients, 2) show clients what they can expect from their photo sessions and 3) give your clients options of locations to help them choose what location will work best for their session. One question I love to ask is what image on my website grabbed your attention and made you pick up the phone to call me? This gives me great incite to what type of location they are interested in as well as what type of images they would love me to create for them.
As a local photographer in the Corpus Christi Texas area, there are so many options for locations. We live along the coast, have many rural farm areas, as well as great tree covered areas. Each area looks completely different then the next which gives my clients lots of options to choose from. But throughly knowing the locations and how to utilize each section to the fullest is where trusting me as your photographer comes into play. I use a lot of the same locations, same poses, but in between I throw in a few shots that are entirely unique. I do this to maintain consistency in my images, when you book a session with me there are no crazy surprises and you will know that by the end of the session you will have images that you will love and cherish for years to come.

How do I make my clients feel as if they had a unique, personal experience? I give them One! I treat each individual and client in a unique and personal way- I’m interested with each person I interact with. You might see common scenes from different sessions, but they are all taken in an entirely different way, and at different points in the session. Every family or individual I shoot has different features, personalities, and not to mention each day is different in the light, color, and feel. Through my images I coax out those different personalities through poses and lighting. Most people don’t mind that they have an image that is similar to another session, because THEY are the subject and that makes it entirely different.

The images that I choose to show my clients in my portfolio are images that I absolutely love and evoke a certain feeling, but not only that- they are images that I can create again and again. I am a photographer that Loves Color, but I do select a few of my favorite images from a session that are full of emotion that I choose to convert to black and white.
